  • Kevin Nicholson

    Accredited Master Marine Surveyor (USSA MMS #31022), Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS) SA, USPAP certified, ABYC Certified Advisor, & Master of Science degree (MS)

    Kevin is the founder of Seaworthy and brings with him an array of experience and knowledge. Kevin spent 16 years as a professionally licensed appraiser and small business owner, 10 years as an educator at the university level, 10 years working within marine mechanics and maintenance, 3 years as an electrician, and most recently 5 years as a Marine Surveyor. These combined experiences, as well as a commitment to education, a Master Marine Surveyor Accreditation (#31022) with the United States Surveying Association (USSA), an SA credential with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS), a certification with the Uniform Standards for Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), a Certified Advisor credential with the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC), and a Master of Science degree have positioned Kevin to develop a dynamic and comprehensive perspective allowing him to address specific needs within the marine industry through the polished lens of an appraiser, educator, consultant, analyst, technician, and Marine Surveyor. Kevin’s professional identity is rooted in integrity and a desire to build public trust by producing an accurate, comprehensive, and invaluable service to all his clients.

  • Mike Nicholson

    Mike has built a long career as an executive level leader in the field of brand strategy, and innovation. Forever driven by a consumer-centric approach, Mike’s success in building brand loyalty has relied heavily on understanding the customer’s needs as well as the ever-changing culture around us. He believes that real brand ownership lies in hearts and minds of your customer. 

    Mike’s unique perspective and expertise brings valuable insight that keeps Seaworthy continually building on the brand’s promise of providing a best-in-class guardian approach, advocating and partnering with owners to help them maintain their boat’s best performance and safeguard its long-term value.

    Mike is also an experienced boat owner and has been sailing the great lakes for over 30 years.

  • Matt Kellenberg

    Captain Matt Kellenberg holds credentials as a Master of Towing Vessels, Master of Vessels < 500 Gross Tons, Able-bodied Seaman Unlimited, and is currently obtaining a Masters of Science degree in Transportation and Engineering Management from the California State University Maritime Academy. Matt grew up sailing Sabots in Southern California and spends his free time surfing San Onofre and Malibu, as well as maintaining a 49’ ketch, which he skippers often from Alamitos Bay to Catalina Island. Matt’s professional career has been developed working for Catalina Express, Connolly Pacific, Pacific Maritime Group, and as a tug operator for Centerline Logistics.
